Have you passed by someone in Bree playing a tune on their Lute or Bagpipes... and said.. hey.... How do they do that?

EVERY class can play at least 1 instrument right away, just look in your skills / passive set. Go buy one of the instruments listed from a bard, or have a wookworker make you one, or check the AH (Auction House)
Here's how.

#1 Make sure inside your LOTRO folder is a folder named Music.... if you do not see one, make one.

Second go to a site like http://www.lotro-abc.com/ or http://www.thefatlute.com/Home.aspx

Download .abc files into that music folder (make sure you unzip them, many are zipped).

Now then once in game make sure you have an instrument equipped in your ranged slot.
Type /music
next type /play (put the exact name of the file here) like this.... /play bev
You can see a list of all the .abc files inside your music folder by typing /playlist

If you really want to get into music playing I reccomend getting a deal called "songbook" it adds a custom window inside LOTRO and its very handy when you have many songs to choose from (like me)
http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads ... -0.51.html

Once you have mastered playing songs and are getting some LOTRO groupies... (LOL) you should try playing together with 1 or more person! Its easy to do just make a fellowship with all the people who want to play together.

Each of you needs to have the same .abc file in your music folder (accept in the case of songs that have different parts for lute, drums, horn etc.)

All of you need to type /play (songname) sync ..... adding sync at the end tells the game to make all of you start at once.... it announced that each of you are ready to play the song.... once you see everyone is ready.... ANYONE in the fellowship needs to type /playstart and you are now rockin!!!!

Enjoy and ask any questions you have please!!! :)
