Nice list.

I recall reading from a loading screen that Ancient Dwarf-Make damage type is also more effective against Ancient Evil creatures (such as the frosty Grim and many others)

Could be but as I don't have a LM I can't check that in game myself.

I also noticed that trying to damage the Dourhand dwarves at Ered Luin's more dangerous area of dourhands (the foes there are level 50 and more), Ancient Dwarf-Make damage type was the only thing that did them real damage.

That must be why Thorin's Hall's faction weapons are all Ancient Dwarf :)

Seems like Beleriand has bonuses against the largest amount of creature types, and no resistances. Good thing I'm rocking out with twin Beleriand fighting knives.

Perhaps the more interesting column in the table ( that HB cites, is the Resistances or the target's ability to mitigate the damage from specific types. Nothing's quite as frustrating as beating on a foe only to see little or nothing happening. (Take note that not all Trolls or Orcs are created equal ;) ) Drego's quite right in that nothing -seems- resistant to the 'special' damage types inherent in some weapons (Beleriand, Westernesse, Ancient Dwarf Make).

Point being that, IMO, it's more important to have -something- other than the 'Common' damage type and the choice of which special damage type is really dependant on your PCs other stats and susceptibilities. For example, Ethia's bows are Westernesse b/c she's terrified of deaders in general and is happier when they're 'terminated' waaaay over there *points*, though her swords are Beleriand, for anything that gets in close. I still have non-LI bows (covering the spectrum of special damage types) in her inventory for special occasions, but haven't equipped them in quite some time.

AFAIK, the bonuses granted by a specific damage type against foes w/ Weaknesses to that are in the 10% or less range (ref: ... mage_Types though I've found nothing either offical or more recent on that). I've read that damage type effects are also -sometimes- part of the scripting in instances, which may be where Chazz saw the Ancient Dwarf-Make damage type necessity against Dourhand dwarves.

Also note that, unlike the mechanics w/in D&D/NWN models, the "+x vs. xyz creature type" damage bonus which comes w/ some weapons ends up being pretty small potatoes when measured against 50 or more damage. In the LoTRO model, that '+x' bonus is merely added at the end.
